What’s New!

National Grid, Southern Tier Network, Development Authority of the North Country Partnership

ECC is proud to see Southern Tier Network and the Development Authority of the North Country partnering with National Grid. ECC played an integral part in the development of both STN and DANC networks. Their continued sustainability and growth into new opportunities is a competitive advantage for the regions they serve and is very exciting!

About Southern Tier Network

ECC conducted a broadband study that included the development of a business plan to support the development of the $10 million, 250-mile network to the original three counties of Steuben, Chemung, and Schuyler. Once the business plan was accepted, ECC assisted in the formation of a Local Development Corporation, securing regulatory approvals, pole attachment rights, and funding for the development of infrastructure to support community-wide broadband and Economic Development initiatives.

ECC was responsible for the standards-compliant design, bid, construction management, and ongoing operational and sales support services that have led to collaboration across all levels of the community, including incumbent providers.

About DANC

ECC conducted broadband assessments across multiple counties and aided in the development and build of the network!

The Development Authority’s extensive telecommunications network started out as a means of providing broadband access to schools in the North County, but now the Authority’s network has literally connected the region to the rest of the world through more than 1,800 miles of fiber network that stretches across the top part of the state.

About Us

Who we are

ECC Technologies was incorporated in 1995 to provide technology and communications consulting services to Educational, Community, and Corporate (ECC) clients. This was at the time when the nation’s telecom- communications industry was changing drastically through deregulation.

For the past 20 years, ECC has provided technology and security consulting services to education, municipalities, government, and corporate clients.

ECC continues our mission to assist clients with the expansion of broadband and the implementation of technology and security solutions in communities to improve economic development, public safety, education, and health- care services.

Success Stories - Watertown City School District Smart School

Smart School and SSIP Application Services

ECC Technologies provided facility evaluations of the technology and security systems in all eight of the district schools.

Scope

ECC provided recommendations on how to improve all of these systems to address security in the facilities and on multiple campuses. Cost estimates were also provided to allow the district to select the improvements that could be funded as Smart Schools High Tech Security Improvements within the District’s $3.6M Smart Schools allocation.

ECC also assisted the district with the development of the Smart Schools Implementation Plan (SSIP) and the submission process. The entire allocation was funded by Smart Schools to support this new Smart Schools Capital Project.
